A Level & GCSE Contingency Dates Summer 2025

Contingency dates are dates given by the exam board as a backup in case there is national or significant local disruption which affects exams being able to be run. The contingency dates allow an opportunity in this case for students to not be adversely affected. Please do not book holidays or trips on the contingency date s.

Deadline for applying: Wednesday 18th December 2024

Application for your son to be entered for a GCSE in their home language, for the Summer 2025 exam series, is now open. Speaking exams will take place between 1st April - 16th May 2025. For the speaking component you will need to provide the contact details of a speaking examiner. t his person cannot be a family member. The school will contact the speaking examiner you have provided to arrange a date and time. Payment for the speaking examiner, is organised between yourself and the examiner not the school.

As this is an additional language, and not part of the school curriculum, there is a fee of £150 to enter. Which will need to be paid via Arbor under school shop.

There are 4 components to the GCSE

The examiner must be qualified and able to conduct the speaking exam in line with the exam board's requirements .
